The Moontonian flag has changed many times in its history. This page is meant to show and explain each of the versions, of the country's flag.
We will start with the first flag. That of Pensklandia, the beginning of Moontonia.:
With the yellow and red representing caution and the tree representing nature. The flag of Pensklandia symbolized Pensklandia's goal to preserve nature, and save it from global warming/climate change. Today, the leader of Moontonia and the government still hold the preservation of nature as one of its main goals.
The next flag is the first flag for the U.S.S.M. This flag was a filler design, created to last only a few days so an actual flag could be designed. The flag's hammer and sickle were to symbolize the countries communist ideals, while Karl Marx's head was intended to show that the nation followed Marx communism. Finally, the flags red color also symbolized... you guessed it, communism.
Next the U.S.S.M.'s final flag. Created by the Supreme Leader and the Supreme Grand General, this flag flew high above the U.S.S.M. for the remainder of its communist era. The red color symbolized bloodshed in battle and the communist ideals in the nation. The blue represents valor, honor, and purity, and the gold hammer and sickle also represented communism. You can now start to see the flag turn into the flag we know and love today.
The image below is the first and final flag of the U.M.S.M. The hammer and sickle has been replaced with the familiar 12 stars and 3 horns of Odin, however, between the stars and horns is a version of the Celtic endless knot, meant to symbolize the endlessness of the nation. This was eventually removed from the flag, due to its complexity. In addition to this, the meaning of the colors has also changed. The U.M.S.M. Supreme Cabinet opted to use a lighter shade of blue and red, as well as shifting towards a more yellow than gold color for the stars and horns. The red now symbolizes bloodshed and victory, the blue stood for valor and honor, and finally, the yellow stood for the virtuousness of the nation.
And the last and final flag is the one Moontonia flies today. The Grand Stars as it is known to the citizens, this flag is long in the making. The 3 stripes, brought from the flag of the U.S.S.M. represent the same things as they did, but not communism. The red is bloodshed and victory. The blue is valor and honor. And the yellow represents the shining beacon the Moontonia is now. The Symbol in the middle of the flag is the 3 horns of Odin. Originally a Viking symbol for someone of power, someone who is knowledgeable, and someone who is rich; the Moontonia adopted this symbol so we could gain power, knowledge, and riches. The 12 Stars represent the 12 founding fathers of the Moontonia Iain Turnbull, Quinn Rollins, Rafe Schmitz, Montana Knight, Zachariah Bailey, Ethan Ehret, Thatcher Gilbertson, Brenden Scott, Gavin Christopher, Benjamin Franklin Ellis IV, Sam Curran, and Alexander Wang.
